The Burbank Parent Education Program is a wonderful resource for parents and children alike.  Classes provide an excellent opportunity for parents to meet other local parents and learn about age-specific child development topics.  In addition to our classes, the Burbank Parent Education Program also offers a number of workshops and events throughout the year.
​Class Structure

Class structure varies with each instructor but below we have provided two sample schedules.

The parents’ discussion may include handouts, watching a DVD and open discussion.

Free play may be inside or out and may also include time for art projects.

Circle time for the children may include singing, dancing, stories, happy birthdays and musical instruments.

Sample Schedule 1

9:00am - 9:30am - Free Play inside or outside

9:30am - 10:00am - 1st Discussion

(half the parents go to another room while the other half stays to watch the children along with a Teacher’s Aide)

10:00am - 10:30am - Circle Time (story time and music time) / Snack Time

10:30am - 11am - 2nd Discussion

(the other half of parents will have a turn for discussion)

11:00am - 11:15am - Goodbyes

Class cost for Fall 2024 is $140 for the semester.

​Workshops

The Burbank Parent Education Program holds workshops throughout the year that cover a wide range of topics for both parents and children. Past workshops for children have included: Messy Art, Music and Movement, Preschool Olympics, "Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles" and many open play-dates throughout the year. Past parent workshops have included: CPR/AED Training, Toilet Teaching/Potty Training, Discipline Strategies, Raising Siblings and Promoting Positive Behavior. Special Events

In a typical year, the Burbank Parent Education Program hosts holiday events, school and class photos, field trips, Scholastic book orders, charity drives and many more enriching and engaging activities. The program also hosts several fundraising events to support the program and stock the school rooms and play yards with equipment, toys, supplies and provide scholarships to the program. Our two biggest events are the annual Boo Bash Halloween Carnival (a community event for kids of all ages) and our annual Spring Gala.
