Librarian’s Corner

Jenny, the Burbank librarian

Jenny, the Burbank Librarian, is here to give us her favorite books of the month. This month’s theme is springtime and Easter favorites. Check out the books she recommended below:

Dig In! by Cindy Jenson-Elliott (2016)
This is a great book for toddlers, especially if they like playing outside in the mud. It has very simple illustrations and shows a beginner’s look at seeds, gardening and bugs in the dirt.

When Spring Comes by Kevin Henkes (2016)
All of Kevin Henke’s books are great, but this one is especially helpful. It introduces spring, the changing of seasons and what you can expect when it comes.

We’re Going on an Egg Hunt by Laura Hughes (2017)
This lift-the-flaps book follows some cute bunnies as they search for 10 eggs on an Easter egg hunt. You can practice counting as well as singing it to the tune of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.”

Here Comes the Easter Cat by Deborah Underwood (2014)
This book shows Cat wanting to help out with the eggs during Easter. It’s a fun, read aloud book because it’s a conversation between the reader and Cat’s expressions/signs (because he can’t talk of course!). This is a series, so you can revisit Cat and his shenanigans with other holidays too.
