The Parent Ed program is great, in part, due to the work of the moms and dads who are on our Parent Board and Council. These parents are volunteers who promote, support and strengthen the program. We have a great slate this year, but are still looking for parents who are willing to join in to help in the following areas:
This position is a liaison with Burbank Temporary Aid Center. You may attend their meetings if you chose. This position helps to promote our constant food drives (in the blue bins) and delivers the food collected to BTAC. They also head up the Christmas donation baskets that our school puts together.
A position usually shared by two people. Hospitality is in charge of planning, ordering, set-up and breakdown of the council meeting meals. These meetings are held once a month, on the first Friday. You will be given a set budget and the number of people who will be attending. Food is chosen from a local spot with a catering menu. Past restaurant ideas are included in the binder. Ice and drinks are also served. All items are stored in a school shed. Babysitting is available at no charge for 1 hour before each event to help with set up. Hospitality also plans the location of the end of the year banquet/meeting for the board.
Makes purchases from a school budget that are requested by the teachers and approved by the board.
Do any of these positions sound like something you can do? Contact us to let us know you’d want to join in this great effort!
