Burbank Parent Education Program

Located in Burbank, CA

The Burbank Parent Ed Program is Burbank’s hidden gem.

Our school offers parenting resources that will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate early childhood.

You and your child will make lifelong friends and discover yourselves being part of a very special community.

Classes are available every day of the week for parents and their infant to school-aged children.

Children enjoy playtime, storytime, singalong, arts and crafts and more.

Parents participate in discussions about child development and other parenting topics.

Our philosophy is that children learn through play and adults learn the tools for raising self-reliant, responsible and kind children.

Classes

In our classes the adults are the students. Their children 0 - 4 years old attend with them.

- Classes are for parents, grandparents and other caregivers.

- Each class meets once a week.

Discussions

- Adults move to adjoining classroom for discussions on parenting topics led by the teacher.

- Adults build a community and are empowered to be the best caregivers they can be.

- Topics may include: child development, age specific issues, community resources and preparation for school success.

Free Play

- Children interact with others, explore and develop skills.

- From arts & crafts, dress up, puzzles, and everything in between.

English Language Learners are welcome in all Parent Ed classes.

- We support various levels of language.

- Many discussions are aimed to increase the understanding of the US school system.

Circle Time

- Stories, singing and dancing led by the teacher.

- Following directions in a group setting.

Classes for parents with elementary aged children and middle school aged children are only for adults to attend.

Snack Time

- Learning independent skills as well as social skills during a meal.

- Developing skills like pouring water and using table manners.

Parent Council

The Burbank Parent Education Council is composed of all

the enrolled parents.

In May, a board is elected to serve through the

following school year beginning in August.

That board supports the program by serving as a valuable channel of communication between class members, teachers, administrators and the community.
